FIBER OPTIC LIGHTING SYSTEM



Fibre optic lighting systems have become the favoured lighting solution for modern museum display cases.In museums,exhibits instead of lighting devices should always be the attention center on the stage so the lighting in museum display cases must be of the highest quality to ensure the visitor to obtain enough information from the displayed exhibits.Unique advantage of fiber optic lighting lies in keeping the light sources completely invisible and discretely from internal display volume,which can make the visitors¡¯ eyes focus on lighted objects and their related information so a complete quality image can be created.

A fibre optic bundle can distribute the light from a single lamp through many fine points to supply lots of detailed lighting for individual objects,and fibre optics lighting system can also provide more general lighting through the use of bars with multiple points so fiber optic lighting systems can treat each individual museum display case as a miniature theatre set,the displayed objects as the cast of characters,the display material and text as the stage set by highlighting one or two objects to create the focus of the story and lighting appropriately other objects to provide additional supporting information.Consequently,fiber optic lighting systems is able to help to tell some entire stories or threads from stories by a group of museum display cases which run through the galleries.

A choice of color temperatures is available and illuminators can be optionally made dimmable.



LIGHT SOURCES

LED light projectors are the latest in fibre optic light sources,providing equal and additional light source features to the standard Metal Halide and Tungsten type.Powerful light output combined with cool and near silent operation make this unit the obvious choice for illuminating exhibits in museums, galleries and exhibitions.With a 50,000 hour lamp life, and cool quiet running, maintenance costs are reduced to almost nil.

Maximum flexibility is ensured with inbuilt DMX dimming, which can be used in either standalone mode or can be connected in series and controlled with a standard DMX controller.

With a standard 30mm fibre port connector, this light source is suitable for retro-fitting to exisiting fibre optic installations.Available with 3000K and 4000K LED arrays to suit any application.

FIBER HARNESS

Glass fibre is most commonly used in its end-emitting configuration to transmit light from the light source to individual points of delivery because the emitted light contains no ultraviolet,infrared,and heat radiation.What¡¯s more,fiber optic is fire proof,water resistant,longevous and can withstand high temperature.The harnesses are made up of tails which contain many fine glass fibres sheathed in a black coloured low smoke material.The ends are finished with crimp terminations for the smallest diameters and with brass or stainless steel ferrules for larger diameters.

Ferrules allow end fittings to be attached to finish the tail and with lenses to control the focus.Because the glass fibres in each tail are very fine they can be mixed-up in the common end to give a more even light output between individual ends.

End lit polymer fibre comes in two configurations - single sheathed or unsheathed strands of 0.75mm, 1mm, 1.5mm or 2mm diameter fibre, or as multiple sheathed strands of 0.75mm fibre.Single strands of fibre give starry points of light and normally require no termination,whilst multi-stranded varieties are normally terminated with a ferrule to allow the attachment of an end fitting.Larger diameters are available on request with soft silicone at the ends of the tails for use when articulated fittings are used in a tight space for the fibre bend radius.

Fiber optic light system can be supplied as a straight light tube with the fibre tails emerging from one or both ends,or can works as a part of gantry design system.A range of mounting brackets for light bars can be supplied.End caps are also available to cover the hole at the end of the bar.Gantry design fittings are made to order to suit the specified length & height of museum display cases.The tails normally exit through one or both legs,and end caps are usually fitted to blank off the open ends of the tubes.Gantry legs can either be fixed rigidly to the tube, or allow for the free rotation of the tube within the legs to make it easy to adjust the beam angle of the illumination.
